2016 John Jay Fellow
Kelsey graduated from the University of St. Thomas (Houston, TX) in May 2014 with a B.A. in Philosophy. After graduation Kelsey spent a year volunteering as a Philosophy and Latin teacher. She designed Spanish-language classes for the religious sisters of the Fraternidad San José Custodio, a new order of missionaries based out of France. Kelsey also participated in popular missions in Chile, and worked in a home for orphaned, abandoned, and disabled children in Peru. In addition to her proficiencies in Chilean lingo and Peruvian Christmas carols, Kelsey is a semi-professional baker of muffins, killer of houseplants, lover of Bach, doodler, gadfly, and bibliomaniac. After her tenure with the John Jay Institute, she hopes to enter a PhD program in Philosophy.
