Garrett is grateful for the John Jay Fellowship and the opportunity to integrate his Lutheran faith with republican political theory. He is cognizant of the need for 21st century statesmen to approach problems from a communitarian and traditional perspective. He is committed to learning from the great conversation of the Western tradition in order to further appreciate our cultural endowment and work to restoring the United States to its full potential.

In his spare time, Garrett enjoys running, Underwood typewriters, and reading.  He plans to attend law school and possibly serve in the military.
