Shuyuan He

Operations Manager

After spending Fall 2025 as a John Jay Fellow, Shuyuan is pleased to join the John Jay Institute staff as Operations Manager. She looks forward to serving current and future classes of fellows, whether that means scheduling field studies or doing website maintenance in the background.

Shuyuan is a 2024 ISI honors scholar and earned a BA from the Thomas More College of Liberal Arts, a “great books” program where she studied the classical languages and philosophy. She hopes to pursue a vocation of working with architectural history and theory. 

In her free time, Shuyuan enjoys drawing, reading about early modern Europe (particularly the Wars of Religion and the English Interregnum), and planning the plot of the next Great American Novel or the dozen-odd other story ideas she has dreamed up.
