Gabriel Cao grew up in Beijing, China, and Chino Hills, California. He received a Bachelor of Arts in 2025 from the Columbia–Tel Aviv University Dual Degree Program. At Columbia University, he was a Saltzman Student Scholar at the Arnold A. Saltzman Institute of War and Peace Studies. He also served as Co-Vice President of Christian Union Lumine and Blog Head at The Columbia Witness.

Previously, Gabriel held fellowships with the American Enterprise Institute, the Hertog Foundation, and the Intercollegiate Studies Institute. He also worked as a research assistant at Columbia University’s School of International and Public Affairs, focusing on Chinese foreign policy, artificial intelligence, and military culture. He plans to continue studying Chinese domestic and foreign policy and its implications for U.S.-China relations. As a fellow at the John Jay Institute, Gabriel is grateful for the opportunity to learn from the great Christian thinkers, grow alongside the local Christian community, and deepen his faith in Christ Jesus.
