Conner Chick
Spring 2026 John Jay Fellow
Hometown: Covington, WA
College: Azusa Pacific University
Major: History and Music
Conner Chick was raised in Western Washington and graduated from Azusa Pacific University in 2024. At Azusa Pacific, Conner studied history and music, as well as the great works of the classical Western canon in the Azusa Pacific Honors College. He was a member and Co-Chair of the school’s American Enterprise Institute Executive Council, a Frederick Douglass Fellow (sponsored by the Charles Koch Foundation), and a founding member of the reestablished Phi Alpha Theta National History Honor Society. An active participant in campus life, Conner also served in a number of volunteer leadership positions, including as a representative and committee lead on the Honors College Dean’s Cabinet, an ambassador for the College of the Liberal Arts and Sciences, a music director for the university chapel bands, and a group leader for multiple international mission trips. Since graduating, Conner has worked full time for Azusa Pacific’s Division of University Advancement.
After completing the John Jay Fellowship, Conner intends to pursue a graduate degree in public policy. As a John Jay Fellow, Conner hopes to apply his experience in the program to combat what he considers to be the greatest threats to liberty and flourishing in America: excessive individualism, the collapse of local associations, and the ever-increasing ascendancy of the state. Of the greatest importance in this age of personal alienation, cultural disintegration, and political polarization is the advancement of a morally virtuous conservatism and a participatory citizenry exercising its due responsibility for stewarding civil society.
