Isela Becerra grew up in the Bay Area of California. She received a Bachelor of Arts from Biola University in 2025, majoring in Political Science. She was a part of the great books program and served as the president of Biola’s Turning Point USA chapter. She is also proud to be the first in her family to graduate from college.

Isela has held various internships, including with a congressional campaign, the Clare Boothe Luce Center for Conservative Women, and The Heritage Foundation. At The Heritage Foundation, Isela interned in the Allison Center for National Security and Defense, where she conducted research on Caribbean and Latin American security concerns. This experience inspired Isela to join the fight against narcotic-trafficking and communism within Latin America. To do this, Isela hopes to join the federal government in public or military service. As a fellow at the John Jay Institute, Isela is excited to be a part of a Christian community dedicated to learning and growing.
